Thrilld Labs Partners with Watch out, Bitcoin!

We’re thrilld to announce our media partnership with Watch out, Bitcoin (WoB), a three-day Bitcoin-only event taking place in Madrid, Spain this October 2-4. Organised by Decentralized and the non-profit Watch out, Freedom! the event gathers the Bitcoin community in Spain each year for workshops, debate, and discussion on Bitcoin.

Since its beginning in 2022, WoB is running into its 5th edition this year. With a track record in the Madrid area, the event has built a strong local community of Bitcoiners, offering an Iberian perspective in regards to some topics in current events and philosophy. For example, with local partners and artists, the event is centered around community, and considers the decentralization of financial sovereignty, art, and personal liberty.

WoB is designed to promote understanding of Bitcoin, and has prepared: 

• Workshops on Bitcoin, privacy, DeFi, and more; 
• Debates and panel discussions exploring Bitcoin beside philosophy and current events; 
• Networking and cocktail hours.

Last year gathered over 500 attendees, and now expects over 55 speakers and 20 sponsors. On the list is CEO of ATH21 Cris Carrascosa, CEO of BTC Consulting 260 Álvaro D. María, podcast host Alberto Mera, and other topic experts such as Daniel Baeza, Nick Anthony, Javier Maestre and many others. Madrid, Spain and Bitcoin

For the fourth year in a row, the venue is at the Espacio Pablo VI in Northern Madrid, Spain–a city that hosts multiple Bitcoin communities like Bitcoin Tuesday and CryptoMondays Madrid and larger conferences including MERGE Madrid and MadBitcoin Summit in May. The capital city of Spain, Madrid is also the financial and political capital of the country, making it an attractive spot for corporate crypto ventures, fintech, and institutional dialogue. 

Indeed, about Bitcoin in Spain… the country has over 300 Bitcoin ATMs nationwide, is the base of major crypto firms like Bit2Me, and it is reported that around 19% to 28% of Spanish adults participate in or hold digital assets. Data by paybis puts Spain beside Germany and Switzerland as the countries with the highest cryptocurrency adoption rates in the EU.
