We are thrilld to announce a media partnership with Oasis Onchain, scheduled for January 31, in Nassau, Bahamas. Oasis Onchain is an annual tech summit that brings together builders, founders, investors, and innovators focused on blockchain, decentralised finance, consumer crypto, and broader frontier technologies.
Now in its third year, Oasis Onchain has grown into a platform for discussion around emerging tech in the Global South and emerging markets. Oasis Onchain summit is curated and organized by the Caribbean Blockchain Alliance, a nonprofit organization that promotes the adoption, education, and responsible development of blockchain technology throughout the Caribbean region.
Welcoming builders, finance professionals, investors and students from the Caribbean and elsewhere, the third edition will take place at a stunning place (Silk Cotton Villas on London Terrace), and will focus on blockchain and consumer applications (with an emphasis on real-world adoption and use cases), AI’s integration with crypto, payments infrastructure and, interestingly, agritech and climate-resilience tech.
What else may attendees expect during their one-day program?
- A regulator roundtable on “Building in Paradise,” which promises to be very interesting;
-Student showcases (e.g., projects involving the University of The Bahamas).
-Founder-focused sessions and investor office hours, sincerely invented to support early-stage projects.
-And, last but not least, a closing reception and optional boat excursion, post-conference.
The Bahamas has become a noteworthy jurisdiction for digital asset innovation, partly thanks to a rather progressive regulatory environment and, of course, the presence of the Sand Dollar, which is also one of the sponsors of the event.
We feel that the event is particularly well-timed as the country was among the first in the world to launch a national central bank digital currency (said Sand Dollar) and is home to over 700 islands, many of which rely on digital payments to bridge geographic distance.
Other partners and sponsors include the Stellar Development Foundation, fantastic because Stellar’s core mission is to expand access to fair, efficient financial infrastructure globally whilst up to approximately two-thirds of the Caribbean population may be unbanked (based on regional estimates).
Last but not least, the Bahamas is pretty well-known for its white sandy beaches and beautiful nature, making it a fantastic spot for builders seeking alpha and a tan.
