We're thrilld to collaborate again with ETHSofia, the flagship builder conference of Blockchain Week Bulgaria, this time being held on 24th September at Sofia Tech Park. Having worked with the team for the 2025 edition, we know firsthand that the event is built around substance and good connections.
Last year’s conference welcomed more than 500 attendees, featured over 80 speakers, and had a 90%+ attendee satisfaction rate. This year, ETHSofia will yet again be bringing together people from all over Bulgaria and beyond. Expect a community of builders, researchers, and other industry professionals who are all in one way, form, or fashion, buldingi the future of Ethereum and decentralised infra.
Indeed, as blockchain technology continues to mature, ETHSofia focuses on the practical challenges of building systems that can support real-world adoption.
Throughout the day, attendees can therefore expect technical talks, fireside discussions, workshops, and networking sessions covering many of the topics currently driving blockchain innovation. This year’s programme explores everything from on-chain privacy, scaling solutions, smart contract security, and consumer DeFi to Ethereum integrations into Web2, tokenisation, and production-grade blockchain infrastructure.
Alongside the main programme, attendees can also participate in workshops covering topics such as smart contract development, oracle infrastructure, DeFi, and MICA regulation, creating plenty of opportunities to talk live with the teams working at the forefront of the industry. Surely we are expecting a couple of great side events as well (keep an eye on the official website for more updates).
Not to mention the speaker lineup, another highlight of the event. Confirmed speakers include representatives from the European Ethereum Institute, Chainlink Labs, Ethereum Foundation, ChainSecurity, and many other organisations contributing to Ethereum’s continued growth. In addition, Thrilld Lab’s founder and CEO will be returning to the conference as the MC, helping guide attendees through the day’s programme and networking.
What we also like is the conference’s boutique format. Rather than large exhibition halls and endless handshaking and lanyard scanning, ETHSofia is designed to encourage meaningful conversations between devs, founders, researchers, and ecosystem contributors. The location is also indeed perfect. Hosted at Sofia Tech Park, which is located at the foot of Vitosha mountain in the western part of Bulgaria, Sofia is the largest city of the country and home to 6.1% of Bulgarians owning crypto, making it among the highest adoption rates in Eastern Europe. Another fun fact: a low 10% personal tax applies to realised crypto received as salary or mining rewards in Bulgaria!
