We’re thrilld to share a media partnership with BTCHEL, a Bitcoin-only conference taking place August 15–16 in Helsinki, Finland. This two-day event brings together developers, visionaries, and pioneers from across the ecosystem to delve into mining, community and freedom in Bitcoin.
The conference aims to go beyond the surface of Bitcoin. When discussing mining, they ask the why and the how, exploring the incentives, infrastructures, energy, and innovation driving it forward. Moreover, the talk turns to broader considerations in the real world, economically and environmentally. In this way, BTCHEL expects to have “hard questions, clear answers, and unfiltered conversations” on the future of the Bitcoin ecosystem.
The agenda includes time for networking and workshops, panel discussions, and fireside chats with some of Bitcoin’s earliest contributors and leading innovators. It covers the latest in Bitcoin and blockchain, and has focused sessions on Bitcoin mining and infrastructure development. In the technical track, some of the key topics include:
- Bitcoin Mining & Network Security;
- Bitcoin Layer 2s & Lightning Network;
- Decentralization in Practice;
- Development Tools & Open-Source Infrastructure;
- Bitcoin vs. Broader Blockchain Narratives.
Aside from the main stage and some already interesting talks planned, BTCHEL is organizing a number of unique side events that engage the community and offer additional networking opportunities outside the main event. BTCHEL is organizing “Satoshi Rockamoto,” closing up the party with a bang.
Others include “Bitcoin FilmFest,” a cinema space playing bitcoin related films (in collaboration with Bitcoin FilmFest), “Founders’ Sauna,” connects people with Bitcoin-related business ideas or those looking to become founding members of a Bitcoin venture, “BTCHEL Pop-up Store,” a popup store that holds occasional community and social gatherings and holds a bitcoin product and book collection, “Les Femmes Oranges,” (in partnership with Les Femmes Orange and The Bitcoiner’s Pretties) a special side event for women to start their journey with Bitcoin. For exact dates and locations, please visit the “Side Events” page on the official BTCHEL website.
The main event is set at Kulttuuritehdas Korjaamo, a cultural center located in the heart of the city. It is one of Helsinki’s most well-known venues where culture and innovation meet, as it hosts a variety of events, performances, and exhibitions. According to BTCHEL, it’s a space where “creative energy meets technological progress, which is the ideal backdrop for Bitcoin’s ongoing evolution.”
Afterall, Helsinki is one of Europe’s fastest-growing startup ecosystems and ranks among the world’s most digitally advanced societies. Finland also has a long-standing history of embracing privacy, security, and innovation, making it a natural destination for the Bitcoin movement. With Helsinki’s tech-forward environment and Finland’s reputation for digital leadership, it’s a fitting home for the Nordic Bitcoin community. And with most central locations just a short walk or tram ride away, international attendees will find the city both efficient and inspiring. Not to mention, some pretty great natural scenery along the Gulf of Finland.
Furthermore, interest in Bitcoin and Web3 is rising steadily across the Nordic region.
From mining operations powered by renewable energy to increasing institutional interest, Finland and its neighbors are becoming an active hub in Bitcoin’s global growth. For example, the Nordic Blockchain Association is one organisation growing the Web3 community across the Nordics, and held the Nordic Blockchain Conference in Stockholm, Sweden this past June. BTCHEL fosters this momentum through meaningful dialogue, shared knowledge, and builder-focused programming.
As an official media partner, Thrilld Labs is offering our network 10 % off BTCHEL tickets with code THRILLD. Grab your tickets now. We’re also giving away two tickets to the conference, thanks to our kind partners! To enter the giveaway, DM us or email info@thrilldlabs.io.
