Thrilld Labs Partners with BlockNaija

We’re thrilld to announce a media partnership with BlockNaija, happening in Lagos, Nigeria on December 2, 2025. The event centers around Bitcoin’s scalable future, zkSYS and merge-mining, with the aim to grow Nigeria’s decentralised economy through a blend of knowledge, culture, and connection.

To this end, BlockNaija emphasizes grassroots learning and education, creating a welcoming space for professionals in the industry to discuss further Bitcoin’s integration into Nigeria, for newcomers looking to learn what blockchain is all about, or even for businesses exploring blockchain alternatives and solutions.

The event is also powered by Syscon, a blockchain platform that combines Bitcoin’s security with the flexibility of smart contracts and low-cost transactions. The ultimate goal is to provide a fast, scalable, and secure platform that helps African innovators, from start-ups to students, build real-world solutions.

At BlockNaija this December, attendees can look forward to: 

• 350+ developers, miners, and fintech leaders;
• Educational resources, live workshops and talks from experts that demystify zk-proofs, merge-mining, and Bitcoin-layer technologies; 
• Networking opportunities with fintech founders, mining farms, and developers across the African crypto ecosystem; 
• A community that celebrates the Naija energy and drives Africa’s Bitcoin movement through music, culture, and collaboration.

As can be seen, the event is geared towards education, providing the resources for businesses and participants to engage first-hand with blockchain, Bitcoin and also Syscoin. Two such places are Genesis Plaza and HODL Heights which host their own workshops and events on blockchain and strategies on Bitcoin and self-custody. There is also a “Mining District” that explores mining, node setup, and economic sovereignty, and the “Merchant Mile” teaches businesses how they can utilize Bitcoin and Syscoin.

The venue is at NECA House, Lagos, Nigeria. Nigeria has its own entanglement with crypto and blockchain, with some ups and downs (just like most countries!), yet the adoption rates have consistently risen. According to Kingsley Charles in late 2024, investments in cryptocurrency was an estimated 33% of the population, making Nigeria second only to India in crypto adoption worldwide. With organizations like BlockNaija, we can see how decentralized technologies are increasingly gaining popularity and attention in Nigerian society through individual and grassroots movements.

It is, then, these grassroots and community initiatives that are at the crux of the ecosystem’s drive, making BlockNaija an integral part of adoption in the Nigerian and wider Web3 ecosystem. Indeed, BlockNaija runs various community initiatives throughout the year, including:
