Thrilld Labs Attends Bitcoin Amsterdam
We proudly collaborated with Bitcoin Amsterdam, one of Europe's most influential annual Bitcoin events.Thrilld Labs' CEO Alexandra Overgaag attended, allowing us to further engage with the international Bitcoin community. What we left with: new app ideas, reconnecting with investors, partners, and acquaintances (plus meeting some new ones, and some reflections on Bitcoin and the space’s future. This November 13-14, 2025, we took the trip to the Sugarfactory in Amsterdam, to head to Bitcoin Amsterdam 2025. Our homebase!
Launched in 2022, Bitcoin Amsterdam has since become one of the largest annual Bitcoin conferences in Europe, striving to bring people together and grow collectively. This edition centered on Bitcoin in Europe and experienced a turnout of nearly 5,000 attendees, 100 sponsors, 150 speakers, and 150 media and press. Additionally, Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands is sincerely a convenient location for all things discussion and action on Web3 as it has a very active ecosystem of projects and events.
What was on the schedule?
Well, you don’t have to hear it from us. The entire event was livestreamed for the two days! This means that whether you were there or not, you can find what went on and was discussed all online, at the links here:
A great initiative, in our opinion, which lets anyone access the content and e-join globally. A truly open-access and decentralized approach. And, we loved the talks…
In particular, we recommend checking out the following talks: Crowdfunding on a Bitcoin Standard by Vladislav Dramaliev from ETH Sofia and others, The Tension between Bitcoin’s Ideals and Institutional Adoption with the leader of the Dutch Libertarian Party and others, a fireside on Designing Systems from the Cyberpunk Perspective with Adam Back, and the keynote Fiat is War. Bitcoin is Peace by Saifedean Ammous.
Under the dim, glowing orange lights, discussions started from Bitcoin-related business and technologies, and continued with topics such as sustainable energy and digital privacy. There were also talks on the ideas of where Bitcoin is heading, what's at stake, and is this decentralized project coming into contest (perhaps at risk? Or contrarily, in some ways, enhanced?) with institutionalization.
Thrilld Labs in Amsterdam
This year we were thrilld to join Bitcoin Amsterdam as a media partner. They already had an event app, and it was quite interesting for us to test out their networking platform. It gave us some food for thought and inspiration on certain aspects we liked for future product updates.
Additionally, as a media partner, we were able to enjoy the special media initiative organized by BTC Amsterdam. This was a special Press Lounge (very lovely, we’d add!), and it also featured a media roundtable, asking: How do you see Europe’s approach to Bitcoin adoption evolving, and any reflections on 2025? Participants included: Economist and author of The Bitcoin Standard Saifedean Ammous; Founder & CEO of Treasury, a leading Netherlands-based Bitcoin treasury company, Khing Oei; COO & CEO at Antalpha and former CEO of Genesis, Dr. Derar Islim; and CEO of Europe, Gemini Mark Jennings.
On the second day, we actively sought to meet with investors and took a new approach, to sit down and signal that we were on the look out. Interestingly enough, it led to us being approached by several angels, a VC, and other nice folks. We also got two small media interviews out of it! In addition to these new faces, making it back to Amsterdam was a good chance for us to reconnect with some of our partners and investors, as well as many friends and acquaintances.
We’re looking forward to another year full of events and new considerations for the industry and for our own product as well, yet before that time, don't forget about Bitcoin MENA in Abu Dhabi in December.
