Nordic Blockchain Conference 2026: Case Study

The Nordic Blockchain Conference used Thrilld for the second year in a row in Stockholm, Sweden this past May 26-27.

Background 
‍

Over two days, NBC covered everything related to AI and decentralized systems to Bitcoin, stablecoins, tokenized assets, and, of course, the evolving policy landscapes regarding all things blockchain. 

‍

Behind the conference’s continued success is the Nordic Blockchain Association (NBA), a nonprofit building the Nordics’ largest Web3 network. It connects thought leaders, businesses, researchers, and policymakers through memberships, their regulatory initiatives, and events to advance blockchain responsibility and sustainability. NBA’s mission is focused around legal advocacy, best practices, and industry financing.

In sum, NBA works essentially to help build a true blockchain ecosystem across Northern Europe through regular initiatives, events, meet-ups, and other opportunities. For its annual flagship edition of NBC, NBA decided to adopt Thrilld as the event’s official networking app. Alexandra Overgaag, founder of Thrilld Labs, was the MC for stage 2 during the conference. 

The Challenge

This year’s edition of NBC was expecting over countless delegates and 125 speakers from across the industry. Alongside the main conference, there were over 15 side events, roundtables and workshops, a VIP evening, and an official after party. With many great side events and great attendees and speakers alike, there is a limit on the time that one has to make the most of a packed schedule.

NBC, moreover, has a multidisciplinary program, and cross-regional attendees. We love that.

The Solution 
‍

Last year, NBC 2025 used Thrilld as its official networking app. At the time, we encountered some minor technical errors that only certain people came across. There were also promotional steps that we had to take in order to ensure that people were aware of the networking app and that there are different features and sections to the app. 

‍

This year, we’re sincerely thrilld with the use of the app at the event, also as the CEO of our team at the event, Alexandra Overgaag, was MCing on stage. This was great for our project’s visibility, meanwhile, it did provide somewhat tricky to help people who ran into onboarding challenges. 

‍

There were a few technical issues, particularly with the iPhone 16 Max and onboarding, for example, but we’re confident that most matters got resolved (bug is fixed at the time of writing).

Furthermore, for what’s on the agenda… Thrilld is undergoing additional infrastructure updates, UX improvements, and new features in the coming weeks and months! We’re excited to share more about what this entails soon and see how else we can help improve the networking and event experience in our industry.

To Conclude…

Using Thrilld, attendees at NBC were able to find others also attending the conference through the event’s attendee List. From the list, attendees can view others profiles, start a chat instantly, and set up a meeting. Also on the app, attendees can find the event’s official agenda and talks, alongside other side events. 

‍

In terms of numbers, we saw a modest increase in the number of attendees onboarded to Thrilld and subscribed to our monthly newsletter. We won’t share numbers publicly, but the onboarding process resulted in a 90% success rate and we saw about 30% of all attendees on the app, which is slightly higher than what one would expect usually.
