EcstaSHE Spotlight: Malak Albaw

In our new EcstaSHE Spotlight Series, we’re thrilld to highlight another builder in Web3, Malak Albaw, an independent Web3 consultant, researcher and journalist. She helps founders pitch to investors, secure funding, and build strategic partnerships, especially in GCC markets like the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Read on for what more she is building with Alba Ventures and beyond.

At Thrilld Labs, we believe that the future of Web3 is shaped by connectivity and action-driven collaboration. That’s why we launched EcstaSHE, a business community for female Web3 professionals, leaders, and execs. We are thrilld to feature women in our network who are building the future of Web3.

In this fourth edition, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Malak Albaw, CEO of Alba Ventures. Malak serves as a chapter director at a global investment syndicate membership-based club for both Milan and Abu Dhabi, curating investor-only events that foster deal flow and co-investment among investors, family offices, and corporate venture capitalists. As an independent consultant, she supports startups by refining their pitches, developing compelling marketing materials, and showcasing their tech stack and thought leadership across media and investment channels.

We had the pleasure of interviewing her to learn more about her work and, importantly, Malak's thoughts on the Web3 business space.

What are you currently building or working on within the Web3 space?

After exiting a D2C e-commerce venture as part of the founding team, I entered the Web3 space to help founders pitch their ideas to investors, secure funding, and build strategic partnerships. I specialize in launching localized campaigns targeting GCC markets like the UAE and Saudi Arabia, particularly for consumer-facing applications.

Today, I’m the CEO of Alba Ventures, a boutique agency working with high-profile founders and emerging startups to craft go-to-market strategies and drive organic PR through strategic storytelling and ecosystem alignment.

In parallel, I serve as a journalist at TheStreet, where I simplify Web3 for TradFi audiences by interviewing leading voices at top-tier conferences. I’m also a KOL for platforms such as Bybit, TOKEN2049, and the Bitcoin Conference, helping bridge the gap between traditional finance and the decentralized future.

What are your ambitions for this ongoing year? How do you see yourself making an impact?

2025 is all about scaling impact through community, capital, and culture. I want to spotlight underrepresented founders, help them get funded, and shape more ethical, human-centered use cases in Web3 and AI. I see myself launching a new initiative that blends investment access with education and events, especially focused on frontier markets and the GCC region, which I believe will lead the next innovation wave.

What’s the most valuable business tip you’ve learned, and how has it impacted your growth?

Own your voice. Don’t wait for validation to build or speak up. Web3 is still in its early days, which means there’s plenty of room for bold ideas, fresh perspectives, and new leadership. Curiosity, consistency, and community will take you far. Find your tribe, ask the “dumb” questions, and build with intention. Your impact is needed, not just your presence.

As a young entrepreneur who achieved a lot early on, my advice to future pioneers is this: find a mentor. A strong mentor accelerates growth by providing honest, direct feedback. Ego is your biggest obstacle. You can’t climb the ladder alone. Constant learning from experienced leaders builds resilience, vision, and long-term success.

Thank you, Malak.

Web3 is bringing about a new world. What kind of world? An open, decentralized space where trustless tech thrives, individuals innovate, and communities continue to collaborate, we’d argue with some added alliteration.

Women like Malak are leading the way. We want you to join us in building that future. Whether you’re just starting out or are already in the space for a decade, EcstaSHE offers a space to connect, collaborate, and share in opportunity.
