EcstaSHE Spotlight: Laura Peijs

In our latest edition of EcstaSHE spotlights, we had the pleasure of speaking with Laura Peijs, Head of Communications and Marketing at Treasury and Co-Founder of Crypto Women Collective, a global initiative focused on advancing female leadership and participation in crypto. Through her work across institutional Bitcoin adoption, communications, and community-building, Laura is helping bridge traditional finance with the evolving digital asset economy. So, what drives Laura’s vision for a more inclusive crypto industry, and, crucially, what does she have to share about building in Web3? Read on…

At Thrilld Labs, we believe that the future of Web3 is built through connectivity and collaboration. That’s why we launched EcstaSHE, a business community for female Web3 professionals, leaders, and execs (apply to join here. We are thrilld to feature women in our network who have been professionals in our industry for quite some time now.

Today, in this edition, we’re proud to spotlight Laura Peijs, Head of Communications and Marketing at Treasury and cfo-founder of Crypto Women Collective. With a background spanning strategic communications, leadership, and digital assets, Laura is helping bridge the worlds of traditional finance and crypto while actively promoting greater visibility and opportunity for women across the industry.

Driven by a belief in both financial innovation and inclusive leadership, Laura’s work sits right in the middle of institutional adoption, community building, and long-term ecosystem growth. We spoke with Laura at Bitcoin 2026 in Las Vegas to learn more about her work, ambitions, and perspective on the future of Web3.

What are you currently working on?

I'm currently serving as CMO and Head of Investor Relations at Treasury, where we are building Europe's largest Euro-denominated Bitcoin treasury. Our mission is to bridge the gap between traditional finance and the digital asset economy, creating new avenues for institutional investment in Bitcoin.

Alongside this, I co-founded Crypto Women Collective, a global community brand dedicated to advancing female leadership and participation in the crypto space. Our mission is to provide optionality: we want to present crypto and blockchain as a viable career path for women, while also recognizing it's not the only choice. We're focused on building inclusive networks, amplifying diverse voices, and creating educational resources to empower women across the industry, not just those already in crypto.

…. And why are you doing this?

I deeply believe in the transformative potential of Bitcoin and blockchain technology. We are at the precipice of a fundamental shift in how value is stored, exchanged, and invested. I want to be at the leading edge of shaping that future - both in terms of building the financial infrastructure, as we are doing at Treasury, and in terms of ensuring the benefits are accessible to all, which is the driving force behind Crypto Women Collective.

With Crypto Women Collective, it's about expanding the horizon of possibilities for women in tech. We want to showcase the opportunities in the crypto space, but also provide support, mentorship, and resources for women pursuing leadership roles. It's about optionality and empowerment.

What do you hope the Web3 industry, or its people, will do in the near term?

I hope we see a significant shift towards greater diversity and inclusion, not just in terms of demographics, but also in terms of the ideas and perspectives that shape our industry. The space has the potential to revolutionize financial systems and create more equitable economic models, but to fully realize that potential, we need to ensure that a wide range of voices are heard and valued.

I also hope we see a maturing of the industry, with more focus on real-world utility, adoption, and tangible problem-solving. There are flaws in the current financial system that often prioritize institutions over individuals, and I believe crypto infrastructure has a crucial role to play in correcting those imbalances. However, to truly make a difference, we need to move beyond the hype and speculation and focus on building solutions that create genuine value for users.

This will require a coming together of the traditional finance world and the crypto space. We need to take the best of both realms - the stability and regulatory clarity of traditional finance, combined with the innovation, agility, and user-centricity of crypto - to build a new financial paradigm that works better for everyone.

What’s the most valuable growth or career lesson you've learned, something you wish you’d realised earlier?

Don't be afraid to take risks and venture into uncharted territory. All of my most rewarding experiences have come from stepping outside my comfort zone, whether that was transitioning into the digital asset space, taking on leadership roles in fast-growing startups, or launching Crypto Women Collective.

Embrace the discomfort of the new and unknown - that's where the magic happens. And trust your instincts. If you have a vision you believe in, pursue it relentlessly, even if others don't see it yet.

Anything else you’d like to add that we didn’t ask?

I think it's important to emphasize the role of education and knowledge sharing in driving the next phase of growth for the industry. We need to do a much better job of making these concepts accessible and relevant to a broader audience.

That's something I'm deeply passionate about, both in my role at Treasury, where a big part of my job is translating the often complex world of Bitcoin treasury management for traditional finance stakeholders, and through the work we're doing at Crypto Women Collective to empower more women with the knowledge and skills they need to become leaders in this space.

Thank you, Laura!

Web3 is bringing about a brave new world. What kind of world? An open, decentralized space where trustless tech thrives, individuals innovate, and communities continue to collaborate, we’d argue, with some added alliteration.
