At Thrilld Labs, our team is made up of people coming from countries including the Netherlands and Italy and Scotland to South Korea, Kazakhstan, India, the United States and Nigeria, too! In our latest series, we’re thrilld to do AMAs with some of our team members. How come they are in Web3? What do they care about? And how will (or won’t!) they help build the future of our industry?

In this AMA, we meet Luciano Ricci, who is now a Quality Assurance and Community Associate at Thrilld Labs. Luciano has priorly participated in Thrilld Labs’ Traineeship Program and has been exploring the crypto and Web3 space since 2021. He is a user and game tester with a background in digital marketing and has priorly provided UX consulting and in-depth product testing for international (crypto) companies.

Luciano has also been involved in marketing and building social media presence for a big restaurant chain in Italy, developing skills in digital strategy and brand management. Additionally, he has previous experience as a waiter and tourist entertainer helping him to develop excellent social skills as well as a fun and polite proactivity.

What is your role, and how does your work at Thrilld Labs align (if at all!) with your career goals?

QA & Community Associate. While I don’t have a perfectly defined career path yet, I know I’d like to grow on the product side, whether that’s as a QA Engineer, in UX, or a related role. The QA part of my work already gives me great experience testing applications, reviewing user experience, and suggesting improvements.

On the community side, I’ve learned how valuable engagement and feedback are, since they’re essential for building products that people truly enjoy using. I also represent Thrilld Labs at times during events.

About YOU as a person, what do most others not necessarily expect about you?

I’m actually half Russian and on a very different note, I also practiced parkour for three years. Parkour taught me discipline, creativity, and how to adapt quickly when facing obstacles (literally!). Both sides, my background and my training, shaped the way I see challenges: stay balanced, keep moving forward, and always find a way around barriers.

What initially brought you to the Web3 space and also to Thrilld Labs?

At first, like many, I came for the hype. But I stayed for the tech, the community, and the potential to change how we interact online. With Thrilld Labs, I wanted my first professional experience in the sector, and it’s been a great way to really get hands-on.

What’s one thing you’ve learned since joining the Web3 space that surprised/touched/excited/impressed you?

That it’s not just about technology, it’s about people. The openness and collaboration in Web3 surprised me the most. Everyone wants to share, build, and improve together.

If you had to explain what you do at Thrilld Labs to your grandma, how would you describe it?

I check if apps and websites work well and are easy to use. And I also chat with people online to make sure they feel part of the community.

What’s your favorite part about working at Thrilld Labs?

Favorite part: The team’s openness. You can share an idea in the morning and see it taken seriously by the afternoon.

Less fun: Web3 moves at lightning speed, so you always have to stay on your toes.

Has your experience been what you expected?

Yes and no. I expected to learn, and I definitely have ,but what I didn’t expect was how open and collaborative the environment would be. At first, I joined mainly to gain experience in Web3, but now I stay because I feel I’m actually helping shape something meaningful
